Churches become the engine for community empowerment!
In communities all around the country are people who are seen to be of no worth, have lost direction, are lonely, isolated and in need of a nurturing environment with spiritual and emotional support. Churches have in their hands the incredible opportunity to reach out to those less fortunate and forge incredibly strong relationships. Coming together and running a Self-Reliant group brings such a wealth of knowledge, experience, resourcefulness and compassion, and helps community members find a sense of belonging, boosts self-esteem, aids peer-to-peer support and gives them the chance to learn valuable skills.
What an opportunity!
